The FISEU Working Group on Securities Market Abuse Regulation developed a Compendium of Typologies of Unfair Practices on the Securities Market. The document was approved by the FISEUS Committee on Internal Control and published in May 2021.

The compendium contains descriptions of unfair and abusive practices in transactions with financial instruments and mechanisms for their detection. Such practices include, for example, actions aimed at destabilizing prices for financial instruments, artificial formation of financial instrument value using high-frequency trading algorithms, creation of false or misleading supply/demand for financial instruments, making an appearance of trading activity.

The compendium also includes detailed analysis techniques that can be applied in practice. Using the document, participants will be able to improve the effectiveness of internal procedures for monitoring the actions of their clients and risk management.
